Ypäjä is a rural town
of 2400 inhabitants in Southwestern Finland. It is located some 140 kilometers
from the capital city Helsinki (Helsingfors) and 75 kilometers from the
regional capital Turku (Åbo).
TRAVEL BY AIR Helsinki–Vantaa
Helsinki–Vantaa Airport in Metropolitan Helsinki is served by direct connections from most major
European cities by Finland’s national airline
Finnair and several other
carriers. If you arrive and depart by plane, you can book and pay for
transportation to Ypäjä and back when you fill out the registration form.
The conference organizers will then you pick you up from, and take you back to,
the airport for you flights.
TRAVEL BY FERRY Turku and
Helsinki
can be reached from Stockholm, Sweden, by two ferry companies, Viking Line and Tallink Silja Line. You can take your car with you. Please
contact the ferry companies for details.
TRAVEL BY CAR from Helsinki
Take Freeway 2 westward (toward Turku / Pori) and follow Route 2 to Forssa. In Forssa
exit to Road 10 (westward to Turku). Then drive about 15 kilometers and turn to
Road 213 (Forssantie, blue exit sign says Ypäjä / Loimaa). Turn right to
Downtown Ypäjä (Road 2805, Kurjenmäentie) after driving 5.5 kilometers. From
the roundabout in the middle of the village, take right (white sign says
Hevosopisto). You will soon see some of the Equine College’s historical
buildings to your right.
BY CAR from Turku
Take
Road 10 westward (Turku–Forssa–Hämeenlinna). Turn left after some 70 kilometers
to Road 213 (Forssantie, blue exit sign says Ypäjä / Loimaa). Turn right to
Downtown Ypäjä (Road 2805, Kurjenmäentie) after driving 5.5 kilometers. From
the roundabout in the middle of the village, take right (white sign says
Hevosopisto). You will soon see some of the Equine College’s historical
buildings to your right.
